Today I did a piece on the Florida gas tax reduction.  I
shot footage of gas station signs with prices from $1.79
per gallon to $2.05 pg. I interviewed 5 people and asked
them if they noticed the price drop.  Two did, 3 did not.
I asked them if they knew why.  Two credited the
president (he had nothing to do with it unless you count
‘brotherly love’) and two credited Gov. Jeb Bush.  One, a
black man, knew the real reason.  He said’ “Someone
tryin’ to get votes.”  Very perceptive for a man so young.

Today I shot my “Plant of the Week” segment on the
Passionflower Vine in the morning and “The Pet of the
Week” in the afternoon.  The Passionflower was
breathtakingly beautiful and dominated a corner lot at
the end of our road.  Its glorious bluish-to-purple blooms
looked like an exotic coral or fantasy flower created by a
skilled artist and the fragrance of the blooms was as
sweet as Jasmine but more subtle..  The whole vine was
in full bloom and also had many large green fruits that
looked like small Roma tomatoes.  These are said to be
edible when ripe.  I plan to go back when they ripen,
maybe in 2 weeks or so.  If they taste half as good as the
blooms smell I’ll be in for a real treat.
The dog however was a mutt.
